Sad news: Chuch Magee died in Toronto on July 18, 2002 apparently of a heart attack. Ronnie Wood's guitar technician since 1972, Chuch will be sorely missed.   A wonderful, kind-hearted man, he was devoted to Ronnie. Chuch lived on the edge of the woods near Marquette, Michigan. When he wasn't on the road with or for the Rolling Stones,  he enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, making maple syrup and of course, listening to music. He loved his dogs also, and a portrait by Ronnie of one of them hangs in his house. We will all remember your many kindnesses. Rest well, Chuch. The last song in this collection "Ode to Chuch Magee" was a momento to him for his thoughtfulness to me on April 19, 1999. Album Information: This is a sexy collection of songs, vibrant and emotionally persuasive. Wendy's torchy and sensual voice goes very well with both acoustic and electric guitars. The singing here is reminiscent of Lena Horne with the various elements of ballad and blues all rolled together (with some rock and country as well perhaps) to make a very individual almalgam. The song "Late Summer Purple" is an arrangement of the acclaimed poet Robert Pack's sonnet of the same name. He says, "Its pastoral style, heightened by the flute and its oriental wistfulness creates wonderfully evocative setting. There is a sweetness to the singing here that also delights."
