Like Hell I Will!
DIESEL is a Dutch band that had a number of international hits in the 80's. Sausalito Summernight was a world wide hit that got to number one in Canada and reached top 20 in the USA. Another song, Going back to China, reached number 4 in Japan and again number 1 in a cover version of a Japanese artist a bit later. This great band with some of the best session musicians in Holland had everything coming their way that happened to a lot of bands in the 80's. Robbed by their American record label director, two original members died within 6 days from each other, marriages that came and went. The normal deal in those days. The two original members, and singers and composers of most of the songs, Mark Boon and Rob Vunderink, went on with their musical lives, playing in various succesful bands over the years. Untill two years ago, when requests came from Canada, but also Holland if the band was willing to play again. A revival and new interest, also from young audiences in music from the 80's. So....they got together again, with addition of 3 more reknown Dutch musicians and started performing again on some festivals. That felt so good, and the reactions were so great that they went into the studio again to write and record new song of which the single Like Hell I Will is the first one. This song is a parody on getting older, but still rocking. April 2017 they start touring The Benelux again and a tour in Canada is under construction. Diesel in 2017 is: * Mark Boon, guitar and vocals * Rob Vunderink, guitar and vocals * René Meister, keys and vocals * Dave Bordeaux, bass and vocals * Ron van Elswijk, drums
