Beck has released a new single, "Gimme," which you can buy over at Amazon or in 45-rpm vinyl format via the Los Angeles-based artists website. The single is his third in the past handful of months, following the breezy "I Wont Be Long" and psych-spangled "Defriended." This one is over in less than two minutes and thirty seconds, but its use of electronic beats, pitch-shifted vocal harmonies, and the beachy tones of what might be xylophone or vibraphone bring the Song Reader writer into territory more commonly associated with, say, Swedens the Knife.
