Chilled to the bone
This collection of tunes is similar to the styles I started on in the early 70s when I played in a band called CAHOOTS. We used to sing a lot of songs by the Band, Neil Young, some of my originals, Bob Dylan. I really enjoy this style and some of the songs involve some dark highway instrumentals: PALE RIDER BLUES is a slide song I wrote after seeing a Coen Bros film about some "killer" in the US called NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN. It was a disturbing film in a way because the bad guy got away and paints an ammoral universe in a sense. THE STRANGER IN ALLIGATOR SHOES is the title I imagined after listening to it a few x. It has a nylon guitar which is uncommon to Americana usually and blues (I think) The same is true of ROAD TO FORT LAUDERDALE. Ive been to Nashville but never to this place. Its a mind trip in a way - poetic licence. LOVE TRAIN, SHOW US THE WAY I feel are happier and more major key explorations. CHILLED TO THE BONE, ASH IN MY MOUTH, COLD COMFORT are kind of Appalachian style country tunes which feature the banjo a little bit ("what did I get for my birthday?") I do write many styles and enjoy them all and so I hope you get something positive out of any or all of these tunes.
