"Cheri, Cheri Lady" was released on 2 September 1985, but peaked at No. 1 in Germany on October 14, 1985. The single spent four weeks at the top and total of 24 weeks within the single chart in Germany, it eventually went gold selling well over 250,000 units there. The single was certified silver in France for sales of 250,000 units.
