Icelandic singer-songwriter Axel Flóvent says about this stripped down version: “‘Fireworks’ is one of the first songs I ever wrote and it has lived through many versions and different times of my life, which is why it’s one of the songs that I hold closest to my heart from the record ‘You Stay By The Sea’. After all the versions it has been presented in, it was lovely to take it back to its true core.” Adding Reykjavik based RAKEL’s tender vocals to the chorus further deepened the intimate feel.
