‘Grigio’ is the third album by pianist Francesco Turrisi for Diatribe Records. The record features an eclectic and unique selection of compositions drawing from 17th century Italian composers Merula, Strozzi and Landi, traditional Sean Nos and Hebrew songs, a John Zorn composition from the Masada songbook and original pieces by Turrisi. The unifying element to such diverse musical material is the sound and touch of the piano. In the studio, Turrisi was accompanied by some of Irelands best instrumentalists and three very special guests: Percussion virtuoso Zohar Fresco, Irish traditional singer Roisin El Safty and Catalan early music singer Clara Sanabras.
