Spirit of Beblow: Impressions of Holy Island
This album contains instrumental tracks and songs, either written about or inspired by the Holy Island of LIndisfarne, in Northumberland. The album contains references to 'Beblow', which is the rock on which Lindisfarne Castle is built, The Lizzie Porter, which is one of the lifeboats that operated out of Lindisfarne at the beginning of the 1900's, The Boat sheds and Lime Kilns which recognise two of the trades central to life on the island, and Ned and Bumps, the nicknames for Lutyens and Jekyll who did so much to restore and create the castle and the walled gardens. It also refers clearly to St Aidan and St Cuthbert important not only to the religious life of the island and that of the United Kingdom. It is intended to be a 'relaxing' album and whilst the individual tracks tell their story, it is perhaps best listened to as a whole entity as each track links to the next.
