Combining urban beats and jazz textures, Shon Dervis and Evan Coleman created Spheres of Influence in the summer of 2000. The original format was Bass, and Sax, played live over drum loops and keyboard samples. As the bookings increased, Guitarist RB Green and MC Larry Miller joined the duo.
