Music, like Christ, has always been a part of Chris’s life. From listening to his father’s records of Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, and Jerry Lee Lewis, to going to church on Sundays with his sisters and grandmother. The two just went hand in hand. “Early in my life, I had a sense of something, I could not express” is the first line of Chris’ song “Something”. Music, like with so many others, became Chris’ way of expressing himself. “I’ve spent a lot of my life asking God to do things for me, and now it’s time for me to give back to Him!” says Chris “I want to Share the things Christ has done for me and the amazing things He will do for all people”. Chris began playing guitar at age eleven. He started playing in groups by the age of fifteen and performing publicly at sixteen. He enjoyed the entertaining elements and the emotions music brought out. His early music preference was rock, but strongly influenced by the blues. Later in life, being so close to the Nashville scene, began performing with country groups in the many live venues in his area. Chris, and his lifelong musician friends, have been through the genres and continue to perform together often. It’s through God’s continues grace that Chris has stepped out of just playing guitar toward singing and writing songs about the influence Christ has been for Chris. And now Chris can express that something he felt earlier in his life. That sense of wellbeing or luckiness, well the song may explain it better!
