Their songs are so private that it might seem improper to hear them in this manner (this is, in fact, hardly an essential release), but fans who have Colossal Youth committed to memory might find it absorbing in its own way. Apart from a rather different-sounding keyboard, there isn't much difference in sound between these performances and the album, unless you count the slight noises in the background -- chatter, the clanging of glasses, and other ambient noise.
