The band Grass and Flower are a Folk/Pop duo from Clinton, MA formed by husband and wife Humberto and Monyque Silva. Originally from Brazil, they came to the US with their families when they were still young and have musical influences stemming from Brazil and the US. Humberto's musical influences come from the brazilian musical style of "sertanejo" which is Brazil's take on country as well as strong gospel roots from The Gaither Vocal Band, Michael English and others. Monyque's musical influences come from christian rock and christian pop bands such as Flyleaf, Skillet, Kari Jobe and some gospel influences such as Yolanda Perry, Kirk Franklin etc. Grass and Flower are a faith-based driven band who get their inspiration primarily from the bible as well as everyday life. Humberto shares more bible-based messages while Monyque shares a more intimate message drawing inspiration from everyday life experiences infused with expressions from her faith. As Grass and Flower, they hope to bring a light-hearted message of hope and love to all.
