A collection of never before released songs that represent some of Mueller's best songwriting. From alternative rock to folk fusion to jazz, these songs were written between1983 and 2004, representing the first half of Mueller's musical career. Some of them are from sessions that ended up producing too many tracks to fit on a specific record. Some were show tunes that didn't make it onto a cast album. Some were done just for fun, as vehicles to explore new technologies or to experiment with new bandmates. The album features the distinctive acoustic guitar work of Michael Hedges (track 2), soprano sax (track 3) and jazz vocals (tracks 9-11) by Woody Mankowski , bass guitar by John Selvia (tracks 1 and 3), lead guitar by Norman Goodman (track 5), and vocals by Emily Rohm (track 12). Mueller's vocals carry the other tracks, recorded before health issues sidelined him from singing. The songs show Mueller's versatility as both a songwriter and an arranger.
