South Side
Singer songwriter / poet Acie Cargill presents his album of roots blues. Paul Kaye is a noted interpreter of delta blues styles. He laid down the initial tracks with his National Steel guitar and Chicago bluesman Tom Gurney added the lead guitar parts. Acie wrote the lyrics and sang the songs. Some of the songs feature the amazing blues/rock and roll violinist Al Joseph. Two of the songs feature guitarist Dave Aurelio. The album begins with Robert Johnson's Love In Vain and the other public domain song is Mississippi John Hurt's Stack O'Lee. Acie wrote a song here about the legend of Robert Johnson selling his soul to the devil in return for guitar skills. The song is presented with actual Robert Johnson style blues riffs. Sit back and enjoy these renditions of authentic old-time blues techniques. Song of the other artists whose styles were influential in this production ar John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters
