Chime for Change: If I Were a Boy
On December 13, 2013 Beyoncé surprised the world with the release of her self-titled album…her recording breaking release sold nearly 900,000 copies to adoring fans in over 104 countries in three days. The first single and video release for “***Flawless” included Skeleton Crew and introduced the band to the world…the magnitude of attention on the band has been nothing short of amazing so, realizing that sending flowers in appreciation wasn’t enough, Skeleton Crew entered the recording studio to record a proper “Bey-lated” thank you! Skeleton Crew share this labor of love and our heartfelt thanks for our second 15-minutes of fame with Beyoncé…and…the world. Our goal with this recording is to draw awareness to Chime For Change: a global campaign co-founded by beyoncé, Salma Hayek, Frida Giannini and founded by Gucci. Chime For Change’s mission is to convene, unite and strengthen the voices speaking out for girls and women around the world. Promoting gender equality and advancing the status of all women and girls around the world remains one of the greatest unmet challenges of our time. Skeleton Crew has also released the Chime For Change video PSA (Public Service Announcement) to bring this critical issue to the forefront and help initiate positive change by inspiring everyone to #ChimeIN and pass this powerful message forward. Chime For Change focus is on using innovative approaches to raise funds and awareness for projects promoting Education, Health and Justice for girls and women. To date, they’ve rallied support through a global concert event, a series of short documentary films, a range of technology-driven solutions, and by highlighting the stories of girls and women everywhere who want to see change.
