"This Side of Promises" is a piano vocal Underground Pop album written by Odessa Draheim and Darryl J. Hall. The songs hearken back to the singer songwriter style of the 70's. New Moon is an uptempo tune about roller skating on a boardwalk in California, while This Side of Promise laments broken promises from lovers to presidents. Black Heart (post bell-um) is about Reconstruction. And the song also raises questions; where are we now? The A Song is simply free verse.
