Ellie's Country
Ellie’s Country is a collection of demo recordings showcasing songwriter Ellie D. Traditional country music, Ellie’s Country is reminiscent of Hank Williams, George Strait’s “I've Come To Expect It From You,” and “Tulsa Time” by Don Williams. The songs were born during Ellie’s days commuting 99 miles for work. The first six songs paint a picture from two different points of view. The seventh, “God Was Writin’ Country,” is a personal testimony. It also won a place in the Music Umbrella of Austin's annual Austin Songwriter Competition. “Misery Loves Company” received an honorable mention in the category Most Danceable in the same competition and features such session players as Ramblin Steve Downing on guitar and vocals and Ken Bujnoch on piano. Ellie D. is a native Texan and recorded Ellie’s Country in Bryan-College Station and Houston, TX.
