Bulldozer
Bulldozer is the long awaited first release by Orange County, New York's own reggae rock band, Shack. It was recorded in Washington, DC at American University. Shack's guitarist, Billy Hluchan, attends American as a music major and with help from fellow students, Nick Choma and Stephen Parsons, recorded and mixed the EP starting in February 2010. The early recording sessions of the album started during the famous "Snowpocalypse" weekend in early February. The early stages of writing Curtain Call, Sunday Afternoon, and Lioness started while Greg Brushett, Garrett Detemple, and Hluchan were in high school but were finalized after Shannon Gough joined the group in 2009 on vocals. Splinter was written in its entirety during the summer of 2009. “Every fall we go off to college, but we come back and play together during the summer and over breaks,” Hluchan said. Each member of the band attends a different college on the east coast but Shack figures out a way to keep the ideas flowing throughout the year. The passion that each member has for creating and performing music is prominent in this outstanding first EP, Bulldozer. Contact the band through myspace. www.myspace.com/shackmusic1
