Sidney Barnes has been involved with making music since the early 60's when he was signed to Berry Gordy's Motown records with his then Doo-Wop singing group the Serenaders. Since then Sidney has gone on to work in concerts and/or in the recording studio with some of the greatest Soul and Rockl acts of our generation with The Rolling Stone,Sly and The Family Stone,Led Zepplin,Jimi Hendrix,Stevie Wonder,Earth Wind and Fire,Janis Joplin,Muddy Waters the list goes on and on.Sidney helped to discover and develop acts like George Clinton,Earth Wind and Fire,Chaka Khan,Minnie Riperton and several young acts at the begining of their careers.Sidney has recorded and released many singles on himself and others over the years. During the late 60's Sidney was the co-lead singer in a Soul/Rock band called Rotary Connection(which also featured the late great Minnie Riperton.)The band recorded 5 classic albums for Chicago's legendary Chess Records and developed a cult following. Sidney's songs have appered in soundtracks,tv and radio commericals and have been recorded by The Jackson 5, Bo Diddley The Dells, The Supremes,Parliment/Funkidelic,Muddy Waters,Mary J. Sidney is currently located in Asheville,Nc and continues to work with and develop new talent. Sidney also makes annual trips to the UK and other parts of Europe doing concerts for the many Northern Soul music fans over there.
