Calgary based hip-hop duo Dragon Fli Empire are getting ready to release their fourth album, Mission Statement. Their first group release since 2009, Mission Statement is an honest and engaging album showcasing the group's growth and maturity, and is sure to be considered one of the most refreshing hip hop albums to come out of Alberta. The title refers to the overall album theme of perseverance through obstacles in life to pursue one’s dreams. The group believes it will be a strong re-assertion of their value to the global hip hop community. Teekay’s writing has reached a new level of depth and maturity. Not only does he address the light hearted topics that he’s well-known for, he also expands his range of subject matter. This includes tackling issues such as suicide, loss and depression. The album displays Cosm’s continued growth as a producer, as he combines his signature soulful production with modern arrangement styles, and also showcases collaborative beats with keyboardist AJV and fellow producer Metawon. Special guests (including Caroline “Lady C” Fraser, Qwazaar, Birdapres and JUNO nominated artist Ghettosocks) plus a handful of special guest producers make Mission Statement a special addition to DFE’s already impressive catalogue.
