Destination Unknown (2011 Edition)
We start into the new year with a 2011 Edition of the track "Destination Unknown". Listen to a massive new electro remix from Roxter. Enjoy the remix package! Zweiklang are the German twins of Christian and Jurgen and also the bosses of Solardish Records, on which they present 'Destination Unknown'. The label has just reached its first birthday and celebrates with the duo's first release on their home base. Featured on the track is Esteban Garcia, one of the most well known vocalists in house music. The remixes span a wide spectrum from the big room warped electro bass of YUG and the jazzy soulful offerings of Systemfunk, to the deep percussive Alvaro Hylander version and the epic, driving funky grooves of Paul Gilmore. Zweiklang translates from German into English as 'two tone' and perfectly sums up the DJ and production duo from Stuttgart. Their style takes in an eclectic mix of soulful, jazzy and deep sounds with heavy Latin and African influences, alongside a healthy dose of tech house. They have worked with record labels including TriCircle, Music Plan, Movin and Coffee Table, attracting support from leading DJs such as Grant Nelson, Shur-I-Kan, Stereo Mutants, DJ D and most notably Roger Sanchez who featured their music on his 'Release Yourself' show. Esteban Garcia splits his time between New York and Berlin (indeed the lyrics of 'Destination Unknown' provide an insight to his jet-set lifestyle). He has worked with some of Europe's leading record labels such as Cala D'Hort, Le bien et le Mal, Caballero and Housepacific Records. His international club hits including 'Movin' Around', 'Til' I Found You', 'Feel Free' and 'Deeper Love' have reached the top positions in radio playlists and DJ Charts the world over. YUG is fast emerging as a very in-demand producer - recently he has created house hits for Ministry of Sound and Spinnin Records alongside his own label YUG Music, and has remixed top selling artists such as Canadian R'n'B superstar Jully Black (Universal) and global recording sensation Justin Timberlake (SonyBMG). YUG has also collaborated with many notable names in house music including Ian Carey, Hatiras, The Soul Providers and SoundBluntz. The Spanish guys from Systemfunk deliver a funky uplifting house remix of the track. In their hometown Valencia they are residents in different clubs and they always find the right way to move the crowd. Spanish-born, now Denmark-based, Alvaro Hylander has worked with Solardish on previous releases, providing the Sunset EP and a remix of Constantinides track Amorlifonico. His music can also be found on the Etoka and Exotic Refreshment labels. Paul Gilmore from Greece rounds off a truly international package. Brought up on rock and heavy metal it was MTV and Prodigy that turned him onto dance music and ultimately progressive house as part of the Undertide project. Returning in 2009 as a solo artist he has remixed Miguel Migs and Who Da Funk.
