Better Left Unsaid

Better Left Unsaid

Combining melodic hooks with deep and insightful lyrics is all part of what Australian Pop/Rock outfit Faith & Gasoline does best. Made up of vocalist/guitarist Gary Trovato, drummer Leon Kechayas, and bassist Josh Vuocolo, this three-piece act explores themes from everyday life to social commentary, drawn from the band’s unique personal experiences to bring the image of the song to life. Under the guidance of producer Sam Panetta (Crowded House, Hunters & Collectors), Faith & Gasoline released the 2012 debut EP ‘Highway Rolls to Dark’, which featured the singles, "Dangerous Mistake" and the YouTube smash “Reality Hurts” – a no-holds barred look at the stifling effects of political correctness on free speech. "Reality Hurts" caught the attention of Andrew Bolt - Australia's most widely read and political journalist and TV commentator - who, in turn ensured that Faith & Gasoline struck a chord with libertarians throughout the Western world. Such was the reach of "Reality Hurts" that Faith & Gasoline became a topic of discussion on political blogs and websites in the USA and the track featured in the film, "The Hustle" - a top 10 finalist at Tropfest 2013. The 2012 “Devils, Dust and Rain” Tour saw Faith & Gasoline play to audiences throughout Victoria, NSW and South Australia. The highlight of the tour occurred in October, when the boys shared the stage with Diesel – one of Australia’s most accomplished artists and composer of the song from which Faith & Gasoline took their name. In 2013, Faith & Gasoline returned to the studio with Sam Panetta to work on the sophomore EP, "Better Left Unsaid". Whereas “Highway Rolls to Dark” showcased a band coming to terms with its identity and sound, “Better Left Unsaid” represents Faith & Gasoline's finest hour. Buoyed by the introduction of Leon Kechayas on drums and bass player Josh Vuocolo, the band confidently bares its soul on the new record. The title track looks deep into the psyche of frontman and primary songwriter, Gary Trovato and reveals his most inner thoughts and insecurities. With its shimmering guitars, pulsating drums and heartfelt lyrics “Better Left Unsaid” is destined to be the undisputed crown jewel in the Faith & Gasoline song catalogue. Tracks like “The Story”, “Someone Else’s Song” and “It Never Ends” see the band returning to the social commentary themes that were partially explored on the debut EP. While harder edged songs “Tomorrow Fades Away” and “Silent Screams” reveal the band’s musical prowess and uncanny ability to blend melodic hooks and raw energy, with a touch of class.
