Every living being has something to earn from the instantaneous effects of great music, and it is this necessity for fulfillment in the realm of sound that creates jobs for musicians. Whether they're playing for their own self-interest or whether their life's ambition is to please others, musicians are the gatekeepers to a certain and distinct euphoria. Just like eating and breathing, listening to music is fundamental to personal and cultural prosperity. Analogous to the 7 year old brother of a teenager, the field of music holds greater meaning than what is at face value. We can often belittle it or take it for granted, but without it the lives we know would suddenly become empty and seemingly arduous. Inspired by the name of the popular song by the Guess Who, DREAMS: A Tribute to Domenic Troiano was created to raise funds for future generations of guitar players and Cancer research in Canada. Everybody will have people affected in their lives by Cancer and alongside support of friends and family members, it is the uplifting qualities of music that aid in one's emotional conquest. Thanks to the Domenic Troiano Guitar Scholarship, there is financial aid for Canadian guitar players who are pursuing post secondary guitar education anywhere in the world. Now, Domenic's role and influence in music have extrapolated beyond the stage; when he was struck with prostate cancer and passed away in 2005, his name secured a place in time not only as a great Canadian legend but also as a supporter of creative talent and passion for many years to come.
