The Nomads&Friends EVOLUTION cd is a collection of songs done by The Nomads and some members of The Nomads recording songs with other artists. The Nomads were based in Mount Airy, N.C. and were one of the top groups in an area that probably had eighteen to twenty groups within a 50 mile radius. All of the songs on the cd are original. The first four or five songs were recorded in a radio station recording studio(such as it was). They are not the most "polished" songs as they were done in one or two takes and considering where they were done. The other songs were done in some professional recording studios and a few were done in a friends apartment. These songs were considerably better produced and the quality is therefore much better. We played to audiences numbering between 250 to 3000 or more people. We played at nightclubs, VFW buildings, fraternity parties and some outdoor concerts. Some of our records have ended up in Italy, the Netherlands and Australia. One of the songs on the cd "Thoughts Of A Madman" has been covered by a band in Australia, one in the Netherlands and a band in New York in the U.S. The song "Thoughts Of A Madman" also was on Duke Universitys radio playlist as late as November of 2007. All of the recordings we released sold out and the last song on the cd is an up-tempoed version of a really nice medium tempo song that we had recorded earlier and the up-tempoed version was released nationally on Double Shot Records located in Los Angeles, CA. That record climbed to about the 120 mark on Billboard Magazines top 200 singles and was in the top five most requested airplay songs on a number of radio stations across the United States. Style-wise I think we had somewhat of a unique sound and we wrote a number of other songs that we never got around to recording.
