Maybe Someday
"Maybe Someday" is a Single/EP for your delectation. The title track, featuring Ms. Natalie Law, is a slacker's tale of what-might-have (and probably-should-have) been, replete with Michael Lovatt's cornet choir, Jez Hollis' mandolin and Andrew Hayes' piano, along with loads of harmonies which ice the tasty cake that Bronwyn McMahon's bass and Mike Hollis' drums lay out. Mmm, mmm, good! Suitable for summer listening--or anytime. The next two songs feature John Landau. "You're Advised to Cry" is a sly, acerbic invitation to tears-- fans of Guy Clark's lighter moments might enjoy this one. "Near Nelson" is a heartfelt tale of love gone wrong in a small, bad town that can't even stand on its own feet in an address line. Lastly, Natalie Law returns to her theatre roots to sing a setting of "Full Fathom Five", part of "Ariel's Song" in Shakespeare's "The Tempest". Recorded live at Petworth Sounds Studio in Camden, London, this a story (spoiler alert: it isn't true) of a father's death. From sad to sadder to saddest of all. Happy listening!
