After moving to Brooklyn in 2002, husband and wife Lucas Van Lenten and Stacey Sperling reunited with old friend and collaborator Daniel Weintraub to start a rock band. It seemed only natural to widen the circle, bringing in sister & friend Anna Van Lenten as well. Lucas and Daniel wrote a bunch of songs and the band got to work rehearsing, playing shows and recording their self-titled album. The vibe is all over the map; from moody dual-guitar epics to prison-yard hollers, glitch-gothic burners to pop lullaby's. There's some darkness on there, for sure, but also a lot of joy and fun - both in the songs themselves and in the playful and exuberant production. The band has since dissolved into the ether but this document paints a vibrant picture of a uniquely creative moment in time.
