Aqua. Fluid, mutable, silently resilent, magically ubiquitous. We come from Aqua - the first breath, the final tear. Aqua is life, boundary, energy, protection, mistery, challenge, attraction, distance, death, dream, memory. Aqua is simple and inifinite, complex and inexplicable. This album is Aqua. Songs melt and echo in each other, glide, evolve and return, vibrate. It's a minute bend in a universal, eternal, flow - it's a glimpse of something we all share, the One we wordlessly are. This album is for my children. We are Aqua. === Ishtar's real name is Elisa. She is the only member of this project. Starting her musical carreer in 2001 playing keyboards in Adveniat Hiems and LustNotes, she's been part of the italian black metal scene for more than a decade. As the years passed though, ambient-flavored side projects progressively drove her away from the metal stage, toward a more acoustic style. She discovered a passion for delicate and minimal sounds she started pursuing alone, soloing in small EPs. Elisa releases under a number of monikers, each associated with a particular musical style. Every EP aims to be brief and coherent, carefully tended; the synergy of music, images and verses tries to creates a unique and palpable atmosphere. Although the style has its roots outside her homeland, the Italian nature of the project emerges in the music Elisa composes, applying an uneditd and strong nuance to the whole sound of her creations.
