The 18th phase of the Singularity evolution is here. Our latest release features the talents of Underground techno artist Systemic, an artist with releases on Jactation, Labrynth and his own imprint Duality, his music has always kept us interested, standing out from the norm. With this EP the Systemic sound has transformed, evolved, mutated into something dark, distorted, unique and, perfect for Singularity. The title track is slamming thick broken beat kicks, dark resonant bass pulses and evolving robotic soundscapes sprinkled with crisp shakers and hats. The soundtrack to the darkest alien film. Blot is a more sparse affair. Deep thudding kicks, underpinned by a real low sub, provide the constant pulse around which scattered and fractured cybernetic sound-creatures dance. Very unsettling. Flights edge is a real heads-down piece. The pace picks up, the kicks have a lot of sub to them, organic percussion provides a good hip shake to lock down the groove. The soundscapes in this piece are really the most fractured of all. This is like the trip inside the workings of a dying machine intelligence. Thought and Memory takes a classic electro feeling and turns it on its side. Turns it on its side and then smashes its circuits. The beats are constructed from electrical noise and glitches, and eventually add up to some really hot machine funk. A great rhythmic workout yet with no cliches. The Voidloss remix of Raven brings the pace up a little. The beats are broken with some low slung and loose percussion taking cues from bass music and dubstep. The original bass pulse is broken down even further, and the soundscapes are taken further into the distance. Deep sub keeps the floor rumbling and the pressure is eventually released by some old skool techno pads for a suprising lift at the end. The final remix by Frelleson and Knudsen (Knudsen is one half of Northern Structures), also takes a broken beat approach. The main drive is provided by a slowly twisting drone synth, joined eventually by more organic percussion grooves and electronic distress beacons. The whole piece builds into a deeply hypnotic and slightly jarring example of electronic warfare. Once again Singularity proves that it champions true uniquity in electronic music
