This New Orleans vocalist overcame unbelievable obstacles to release this funky, must have release. He was a regular on Bourbon Street when Katrina struck, leaving him with nothing. The studio was flooded where his tracts were recorded, not to mention his personal loss. As with all great entertainers that must share that special gift with the world, rather than holding it inside or recording just for the sake of having a release, Spring had to finish the project started so long ago. You can hear the jazz influences of living in New Orleans, but funk takes over with such tunes as; “Hey Sexy Lady” (Spring’s original composition),” The Party Song”, “Angel”, “I’mma Tell Yo Mama”, “Hold On I’m Coming”, “Wonderful Tonight”, “Outta Yo Mind”, “Love & Happiness” and “Try A Little Tenderness”. You can’t pigeon hole this CD as it has something for everyone. You will hear a song with a featured blues guitar, a great funky island sound, smooth R & B renderings and wow…. I got my groove on while listening to “Love and Happiness”. I didn’t want that to end. You will love the real horns on this release.
