But Baron proves this assumption a fallacy with a solid album of inventive work. It doesn't hurt that he is backed by the dream team of Bill Frissell (guitar), Ron Carter (bass), and Arthur Blythe (alto sax). It's a nice mix of soulful jazz and progressive post-bop. An all around winning effort.
