Bandleader Dave Smalley sounds more like a wisened punk rock veteran than ever before, delivering his manifestos with gruff charm and breathless abandon on fantastic cuts like "Giving It All Away." Down by Law shine brightest when they play fast, short, catchy punk rock tunes, and this album is loaded with them.
