A little more ambitious than most artists in the genre, Kolbe allows his compositions to stretch out and breathe freely (only one tune runs less than five minutes) without fear of rejection by tight radio formats. He also varies styles from hot synth and guitar ("Sound Man") to Eastern (with a sitar sound on "Jiban") and even employs orchestration on a few of the slower cuts.
