He may also be searching for his voice, an element of his music that is inexplicably lacking confidence. Nonetheless, his mature, orchestrated arrangements are the typical stylish pop found on Le Grand Magistery. The album is slower paced than the average chamber pop offering and it takes some patience to stay with Mr. Wright's lonely stories. The atmosphere is sometimes successful in evoking his lost-at-sea pilgrimage, like on the splendid "Darling Honey." Otherwise, it never quite pulls you in enough to want to find him.
