“DORIS” Doris a singer of popular music, started her career in Xalápa Veracruz, where she was born. For 36 years she has dedicated to the world of “show business” herself in various forms of entertainment. As a singer, actress, she has participated in many musicals under the direction of some of the best directors of México. The directors are as follows: Manolo Fábregas in “Venga Toda la Gente”, Rafael Banquels in“Todo SeVale”, with Enrique Alonso for 15 years on the shows he did in México, Guillermo Méndez who did “Una Vez En La Isla”, Roberto D”amico in the beautiful recitals of music and narratives dedicated to some of the best composers of our “Cancionero Popular” such as Agustin Lara, Gonzalo Curiel, Jose Angel Espinoza (Ferrusquilla), to mention a few. Doris participated in important recitals such as: Festival Del Bolero in Cuba, México en la piel in Montreal Canada, La Feria del Libro in Caracas Venezuela, El Festival de Agustin Lara in Veracruz, El Festival Afrocaribeño and more. Her first Album was released by RCA Victor in México produced by Jonathan Zarzosa. Further albums were recorded by Ariola Internacional, Peerles, Discos Continental, and Pentagrama. For 16 years Doris was a Hostess and Singer for an Excellent TV Show on Channel 11 entitled “Boleros y Un Poco Mas” of Politécnico Nacional. Having music in mind, she informed the public of the political, social, and cultural history of México. Because of her versatility in different styles of music that she has managed in her career, she has acquired many different recitals which are the following: Las Canciones de mi México Querido. Bajo La Luz De La Esquina, (Tango) Lara Por Siempre. Al Son De Este Bolero. Veracruzanas Con Alma De Veracruz (Recital dedicado a Toña La Negra) to mention a few. Doris has performed these recitals in different important forums in México: Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Monterrey, Sinaloa, Reynosa, Yucatán and others. Besides the afore mentioned recitals, in the last seven years she has played an important part in the programs “Nostalgia” with maestro Jorge Saldaña. She is proud to introduce her first CD “Veracruzanas Con Alma De Veracruz” with her new recording company GMIM RECORDS.
