James Galway is one of the most successful "crossover" artists around, generally managing to produce albums that appeal to a broader than purely "classical" audience but doing it tastefully and with a musical integrity that has earned him the respect of classical specialists and critics. This collection of Irish folk music and popular song is a case in point, consisting of pieces Galway clearly cares about and that he plays with complete sincerity and warmth. The Chieftains offer excellent support, and everyone sounds as if he's having a terrific time. You will, too. --David Hurwitz
