Israel's first professional chamber group, the Jerusalem String Quartet was formed in 1993 when the members were still students at the Jerusalem Music Center. Since that time, they have become one of the most acclaimed ensembles in the world. This collection of Haydn quartets features works from three distinct periods in the composer s output. The early Op. 20 No.5 is paired with the middle Op.33 No.3 and the late Op.76 No.5. Originally released in a limited edition Haydn series, this disc is now a welcome part of the regular catalog.
