by Jim BrenholtsIt is very difficult to read the liner notes on Voyagers by Steve Howe (of Yes) and Paul Sutin. That is just the first in a series of disappointments. High expectations -- based on the pedigree -- might be the reason that this fails to please, but it is unlikely. The soundscapes are very simple with no atmosphere. The album tries to go in several directions at once and never settles into a comfortable space. Sometimes -- with experimental and avant-garde music -- that is a good thing. In this case, the music just has no cahones. This is for Yes and Steve Howe completists only.
