The White Album, a new remix album from the fine folks of Hillsong United brings together a collection of some of their best songs with a lovely new coat of paint. Everything from "All I Need Is You" to "Oceans" is represented quite beautifully here. Now the important thing to know about remix albums is that sometimes they overstep the lines of sanity for a song and drag down the whole experience to craziness with madness such as hyper harmony-killing dub step and bizarre sounds. Thus, approaching this album I was... cautious since a little too much "remixing" can be more harmful than helpful to a song. Thankfully, The White Album, manages to keep itself in check for the most part. A couple songs (specifically "Hosanna") do step into the "noise" category of electronic music which I personally dread, but they never actually become painful or tedious to listen to. Honestly, I love this album. Every remix seems to bring out the wonder and power of these songs perfectly. As I listened while I worked, I found myself passionately singing along to some of the tracks again for the first time in years. I forgot how godly many of the band's songs could be and the new layers of electronic grandeur seemed only to elevate the quality of these songs. Without a doubt this is my favorite remix album. The material the various remixers were given has been used wonderfully in this album. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to hear some of the best Christian worship songs ever written with a fresh and exciting electronic touch.(By Joshua A.)
