Carol of the Bells
Award-winning Prog rockers Marillion will release their first commercial Christmas single this Sunday, with their version of Carol of the Bells as a charity fundraiser. For years, the band have sent members of their fan club a Christmas message, complete with seasonal songs and exclusive tracks and videos, but this is the first time that a track has been offered for wider purchase. The track was recorded at Racket Records, the bands Buckinghamshire base, and the progged-up track will be accompanied by a light-hearted video. The decision was taken by the band after the track was so well received by the fans on this years club DVD that an MP3 download was requested. All proceeds will go to the Mat Elworthy fund, raising money via BrainsTrust to provide life-saving treatment for a father of two who has a brain tumour and is unable to receive the treatment he needs on the NHS.
