by Wade KerganA smooth country-pop singer, Marcel grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, where music initially took a back seat to hockey as a career. After bouncing from one semi-pro hockey team to the next for several years, Marcel hung up his skates to pursue a career in country music. His earliest efforts were fruitless, but relocating from Los Angeles to Nashville provided a change in fortunes in the form of a record deal with Mercury. His debut, You, Me and the Windshield was released in 2003.
