Will and the Indians
William Thackeray, Kabir Bhalla, Michael Watson, Matin Gouniai. A bunch of unlikely lads, Will, Kabir and Matin met at school... played soccer and met Watson, who didn’t play bass but was so cool, they taught him how to play and just this year supported the likes of Little Red, Children Collide, Amy Meredith and Operator Please. Now, they gig around the Cit. “Think we got it", they said... (They don't): "It’s in our songs; ya know it doesn't matter how hard you try to get famous by playing heaps of gigs if you want to be huge and all that, but for us it’s all about the songs, and that’s all we really care about" Wise words from a bunch of pubic poets, though unfortunately, their songs are pathetic. A combination of the singing styles of Ray Davies and Mick Jagger, and the guitar work of Marr, Harrison and Cook (lol jokes Turner). Their tunes incorporate that straight out, uncomplicated rock rhythm mixed with ingenious melodies and song structure... These boys could do something if they really tried... and they are. So if you like their music and/or their lusciously combed hair, don't necessarily support them, but have a listen. Do it for yourself... coz that’s all they really care for... rock n' roll.
