The Hot Rats is a cover band formed by Gaz Coombes and Danny Goffey as a side-project from their main band Supergrass. The band is named after Frank Zappa's album Hot Rats. The duo have recorded a set of covers with producer Nigel Godrich for a forthcoming album entitled Turn Ons in the vein of David Bowie's Pin Ups which was originally due for release in Autumn 2009 but is now sheduled for 19 January 2010 in the USA and 25 January in the UK. They have performed a short UK tour which included the Reading and Leeds Festivals.
